El especialista en fibra óptica es responsable del despliegue de redes ópticas de transporte y acceso fijo (FFTH) o móvil (FFTM). Define los esquemas de redes ópticas según su aplicación: Acceso, Urbano, interurbano, especiales (SCADA), los requerimientos y la gestión de compra de los proyectos de implementación. Es responsable de la instalación, resolución de problemas, terminación, fusión, prueba, mantenimiento y reparación de cables de fibra óptica.
